Career
Douglas hailed from Newark, Delaware. Early in his career, he held the position of club pro at the Newark (Delaware) Country Club from 1940 until October 1942. After World World War II, he joined the Professional Golf Association Tour.
At 6"2" tall and 165 pounds, he was lean and lanky.
He was of Scottish ancestry and known for his smooth swing. In 1978, Douglas was inducted into the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame.
