He held curacies at Street Olave, Woodberry Down and Street Mary, Primrose Hill followed by incumbencies at Street Paul, Lorrimore Square then Street Andrew and Street Mark, Surbiton. He was Rural Dean of Kingston upon Thames from 1983 to 1988.
