Doctor Hodges receives his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Cornell University in 1960, and his Master of Surgery (1961) and Doctor of Philosophy (1966) from Berkeley.

From 1966-1970 he worked at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill and Holmdel, New Jersey. In 1970 he joined the faculty in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at University of California Berkeley, where he has served as professor, department chair, and dean
Achievements

He received the 1999 American Society for Engineering Education Benjamin Garver Lamme Award, 1997 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers James H. Mulligan, Junior. Education Medal, and, with Robert W. Brodersen and Paul R. Gray, the 1983 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Morris N. Liebmann Memorial Award for pioneering work on switched capacitor circuits.
Membership
Hodges is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fellow.
