He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played for the Florida Gators men"s golf team in National Collegiate Athletic Association (National Collegiate Athletic Association) competition from 1983 to 1986.
Jackson also received All-American honors four times. He graduated from the university with a bachelor"s degree in exercise and sport science in 1986. Jackson played on the Professional Golf Association Tour and its development tour, the Ben Hogan Tour/Nike Tour (now Webcom Tour), from 1989 to 1998.
On the Professional Golf Association Tour (1989, 1993), his best finish was T-14 at the 1986 Tallahassee Open.
