Born in Edinburgh, David has played drums with The Complete Stone Roses, The Zephyrs and Arab Strap. Between 1993 and 1995 he played drums in The Artisans. In October 1998, David took a full-time job with The Complete Stone Roses, a The Stone Roses tribute acting
He toured with the band throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, with Gary "Mani" Mounfield from the original band, until August 2001.
In the summer of 2003, David was asked to play drums with Arab Strap on their international tour. David also played on the band"s final album The Last Romance (2005).
He is now teaching drumming to people of all ages after Arabstrap split up.
