David Gordon Jeffrey VI was born on July 31, 1948 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, United States. He is the son of David Gordon Jeffrey V and Clara Ellen (Wilson) Jeffrey.

Education

He studied at Furman University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1967. He later earned a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University in 1973. In 1975, he completed a Master of Arts at the University of Michigan, specializing in the socio-psychological and economic structure of Western Europe.

Career

Jeffrey began his career in government-related economic development roles, working in this field from 1967 to 1972 and again from 1975 to 1980.

From 1980 to 1990, he worked in international trade with British American Industries, operating across multiple locations including San Francisco, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Macau.

He joined GE Capital in 1990 as Vice President for development and marketing of new products, including mergers and acquisitions activities, serving until 1995. He continued working with GE Capital and affiliated brokerage operations from 1996 to 2010 as a master general agent focused on product development and marketing.

From 2009 onward, he has been involved with AIG in a similar capacity, working in insurance brokerage and marketing across the United States and Asia.

In addition to his business career, Jeffrey is an ordained Christian minister and certified chaplain, involved in religious and chaplaincy organizations.
