Lees received a degree from the Florence School of the Arts in Italy, in 1938.
Career
From 1952 to 1972 David was a freelance. He did mainly industrial work and photographed for Time-Life. The photographer took portraits of such notables as Ezra Pound, Henry Moore, and Emilio Pucci. He was a photojournalist, and his photo essays have included records of major events at the Vatican.
