1919-1922 served in Red Army as chief of a radio station. 1924-1927 took an active partin the work of the sci circle at Professor V. North. Shevkunenko’s Chair of Topographical Anatomy. Leningrad Military Medical Academy.
1927-1930 junior lecturer, 1930-1937 lecturer, Chair of Topographical Anatomy and Operative Surgery, Leningrad Military Medical Academy. 1939-1940 assistant to professor P. A. Kupriyanov, Chair of Topographical Anatomy, 1st Leningrad Medical Institute. 1941-1948 assistant professor, then associate professor, Chair of Topographical Anatomy, 2nd Moscow Medical Institute.
1942-1943 also head of a surgical department at a Moscow evacuation hospital. From 1949 did private research as a pensioner. In the course of 32 years spent editing works on topographical anatomy and opertivc surgery acquired a reputation as an authority on anatomical terminology.
Did major research on the surgical anatomy of the lumbosacral region of the peripheral nervous system which was used on the compilation of the Atlas perifericheskoy nervnoy i venoznoy sistemy (Atlas of the Peripheral Nervous and Venous System) (cd Professor V. North. Shevchenko). Studied the anatomical works of North. 1. Pirogov, whom he considered the founder of topographical anatomy, and translated his doctor’s thesis from Latin into Russian.
Also translated Pirogov’s experimental study on the Achilles tendon from German into Russian. 1959 edited and annotated the Annaly Derptskoy kliniki(AnnalS of the Dorpat Clinic), which constitute volume 2 of Pirogov’s “Collected Works”. Wrote over 50 works.
