From 1977 to 1979 David served as an advisor to the Photography, Film, and Video Panel of the Northern Arts Association of England and, during the same years, he held a fellowship in creative photography from Northern Gas/Northern Arts.
Working in 35mm and 6 x 7cm formats, the photographer works in documentary and land-scape, his main interests being in atmosphere, surrealism and visual experimentation "without resort to manipulation of subject."
