He is currently Professor of Political Sociology at the Australian National University"s (American National University) College of Arts and Social Sciences., and Fellow at the Institute of Governance and Policy Analysis (IGPA). He was previously Director of the Research School of Social Sciences at American National University. Prior to this he was Professor of Political Sociology at the University of Birmingham, and also worked at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Essex. Marsh"s research focuses on issues of political participation, governance and policy transfer.
