Career
David is a very accurate seam bowler who bowls at speeds around 75–80 miles per hour. He had a somewhat inconsistent time with Kent but has had more success with Leicestershire who he joined in 2004, and his current county, Essex. In 2005 Masters was named as Leicestershire"s player of the year after picking up 45 wickets in all competitions.
On 20 August 2007 it was announced that Masters would join Essex on a three year contract, and he took 5 wickets on his championship debut for the county in 2008.
On 11 May 2008, Masters took a career best of 5–17 off 4.2 overs in a one day match against Surrey whilst playing for Essex. Foster often claims stumpings off of Masters" bowling, which is quite rare for a pace bowler.
Masters had undoubtedly the best year of his career in 2011. He finished as the leading wicket taker in domestic cricket with 93 victims.
