Career
Oniya played five seasons for Uzbek League"s club FK Samarqand-Dinamo. On 14 December 2011, Football Club Bunyodkor announced David Oniya signed a contract with them. He signed a new contract with Bunyodkor.
In February they terminated his contract with Bunyodkor and he moved back to Dynamo Samarkand.
On 13 June 2015, Oniya died after collapsing on the pitch in Malaysia during a friendly between his club T-Team and Kelantan. His body was laid to rest at a Christian cemetery in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan two weeks later.
