Pam married Maisie in 1949. They had two daughters. Pam was first a reference librarian for the former Borough of Edmonton and in 1976 the local history and museums officer for the London Borough of Enfield.
He was known for his writing on the history of Edmonton and Enfield and other areas of the former Edmonton Hundred.
He was president of the Edmonton Hundred Historical Society and appointed a fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2006. Pam died on 17 August 2014.
