He was drafted 154th overall in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. Rohlfs played for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League during the 2009-2010 season after attending the University of Michigan. The 2006–2007 season was his senior year with the Wolverines.
