Career
Templeman was born in Northam, Western Australia. He worked as a teacher until entering politics. In 1994, he was elected to the Mandurah City Council, where he served as deputy mayor from 1997 until 2001.
In 2001, he was elected to state parliament, and was subsequently re-elected in 2005.
In March 2007, he became Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and the Peel Region.
