David Vaughan

Career

Captain David Vaughan was aboard the Discovery with Knight, the expedition leader. We know that they were shipwrecked at Marble Island, along with the Albany and Captain Berley. The remains of the camp where they all perished, were discovered many years later by the explorer, Samuel Hearne.

Achievements

• During the 1970s he employed a variety of young people to assist and learn how to produce a mural, and he also completed many private commissions, re-creating on a smaller scale some of the success he achieved in the 1960s.
