Began practice at Munfordville, 1894. County judge, Hart Company, Kentucky, 1897-1900. Commonwealth attorney, 10th Kentucky Judicial District, 1906-1910.

Circuit judge 10th Kentucky Judicial District, 1916-1923, elected judge Court of Appeals, November 1922, for term beginning January 1, 1923. Retired from appellate bench November 1, 1929. Practicing at Louisville.
