Began Quaker meetings in his home, 1869. Leader popular summer gatherings at Mountain Lake Park, Garret County, Maryland., Pitman Grove, New Jersey, and great interdenominational camp meetings in East and West. Exponent of religious thought called Pentecostal Christianity.
Advocated introduction of singing and pastoral leadership into Quakerism.
