Richardson, David Crockett was born on June 7, 1845 in New Kent Company, Virginia, United States. Son of Turner and Margaret Ann (Robertson) Richardson.

Education

Removed to Richmond, Virginia, 1855. Educated private schools. Enlisted at beginning of Civil War in Packer’s Battery of Art., C.S.A.

Wounded at 2d battle of Manassas, discharged, but reenlisted within a few months and served until end of war. Bachelor of Laws, Richmond College School of Law, 1874.

Career

2d, Florence B. Hechler. Clerk Police Court, Richmond, 1870-1880. Justice Police Court, 1880-1888.

Commonwealth’s attorney, 1896-1906 (declined reelection). Practiced law, 1906-1908. Mayor of Richmond, since 1908.
