Schools, Aurora, Missouri, 1891-1893. Engaged in tick fever quarantine work, 1896-1900. Missouri State veterinary, 1900-1912 and 1913-1922, in 1900 began campaign against contagious diseases in animals, especially cattle tuberculosis.
Worked successfully on tick fever eradication in Missouri, also eradication of glanders in horses and mules.
Successful in keeping foot and mouth disease out of Missouri during violent outbreak in neighboring states, 1914-1915. Stamped out hog cholera in Missouri by 1918.
Developed intradermal method of testing cattle for tuberculosis, used in Missouri since 1911, and adopted by Federal government, 1921.
