David Harold Petering, American Chemistry educator. Achievements include research in the metabolism of essential transition metals zinc, iron, and toxic metals and their complexes, role of zinc in normal and tumor cell proliferation, of cadmium in biological toxicity and various metal complexes in cancer chemotherapy, biochemistry of metallothionein. Fellow Northwestern University, American Cancer Society, 1969-1971.
