Perkins, David Walton was born on November 16, 1847 in Rome, New York, United States. Son of David W. and Jane Huntington (Fitch) Perkins.

Education

Educated Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Aced., and Phillips Academy, Exeter, N.H., 1857-1865. Piano studies under S. B. Mills, Alfred H. Pease, Theo. Kullak and Anton Rubenstein.

Theory under August Mickler and Friedrich Siebmann.

Career

Founder, manager and associate director Sherwood Music School, 1897-1901. President Chicago Conservatory of Music, since 1907. Home: Chicago, Ill.
