Education

Bachelor of Science, Carroll College, 1968.

Career

He graduated from Carroll University and became a biologist. From 1971 to 1973, he served as Director of Environmental Health of Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. Opitz was elected to the Assembly in 1972.

In April of 1979, Opitz was elected to the Senate from the 20th District and remained a member until 1984.

He is a Republican.
