Shiau, De-Hai was born on November 28, 1946 in Taipei, Taiwan. Son of Tien-Tsai Shiau and Re-Chur Chen.

Career

Commissioned Taiwan Air Force, 1973, advanced through grades to lieutenant colonel, 1973—1983, flight surgeon Tau-Yaun, 1973—1975. Ophthalmologist training Air Force General Hospital, Taipei, 1976—1980. Chief ophthalmology Tainan Air Force Hospital, Taiwan, 1980—1985.

Resigned Taiwan Air Force, 1985. Chief ophthalmology Tien's Catholic Hospital, Taipei, 1985—1989. Ophthalmological observer New England Eye Center, Boston, 1995.

Deputy director Aviation Medical Center, Taiwan, 1996, Hsin Hsiang Eye Clinic, Taipei, Taiwan, since 2003.

• De-Hai Shiau has been listed as a noteworthy ophthalmologist by Marquis Who's Who.
