Nyquist, Dean Allen was born on January 24, 1935 in Brule, Wisconsin, United States. Son of William Theodore and Lilly E. (Lindberg) Nyquist.

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, North Dakota State University, 1956. Bachelor of Laws, William Mitchell College Law, 1961.

Career

Born in Brule, Wisconsin, Nyquist received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. He was an engineer and worked for Honeywell. He lived in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and served as mayor of the city for thirteen years.

Nyquist served in the Minnesota State Senate from 1967 to 1972.
