Education
Rey attended Affton High School in Affton, Missouri. She graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Surgery in Political Science in 1989. She earned a Master of Surgery in Management from Webster University in 2004.

After retiring from the Air Force, she moved to Saint Mary"s County, Maryland. She was elected president of the Republican Women of Saint Mary"s County in 2010, and president of the Republican Club of Street Mary"s County in 2012. She was selected as the Street Mary"s County Republican Woman of the Year for 2013.

Rey was first elected in 2014 into the for District 29B, which covers the southern part of Saint Mary"s County.
