Gibson was selected in the 1948 Bachelor of Applied Arts Draft by the Minneapolis Lakers. He played for the Tri-Cities Blackhawks in 1949-1950. He then played in the short-lived National Professional Basketball League in 1950-1951 for the Louisville Alumnites.
