Dee Ann Staats, American Toxicologist. Achievements include first scientist to show localization of vitamin E in different physiological zones of the adrenal cortex; found that depletion of vitamin E from the adrenal cortex due to vitamin deficiency affects steroidogenic enzymes and renders the organ more susceptible to toxic insult; developed physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelfor chloroform cytotoxicity/carcinogenicity.
