Deepak Shikarpur is an Information_technology evangelist from Pune, India He worked for 16 years in the Information Technology industry at TATA MOTORS.
Education
In his school days, Shikarpur was promoted from 3rd to 5th standard. After getting 97% from higher secondary school, he chose engineering as his career. He completed engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli in 1985 and stood 6th rank in his graduating class.
He received Doctor of Philosophy from Bharati Vidyapeeth in March 2010.
Topic of his thesis was on “Study of Opportunities for Engineering Process Outsourcing Foreign Small and Medium Size Enterprises Enterprises in and around Pune”.
Career
His profession spheres over Directorship with several global information technology companies and academic institutions. Today he is a mentor for youth, trying to guide them in the right career direction. Shikapur is on the board of many Information Technology/ITES companies like Autoline Design Software Limited, SEED Infotech Limited as Director and mentor.
He is a technical and educational writer and has written innumerable articles for spreading Information Technology to improve the knowledge base of people in India.
He is co chairman (Information Technology Committee) of Mahratta Chamber of commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) and is serving as Chairman Board of Studies (Computer Management) at Pune University. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers, Computer Society of India and Maharashtra Academy of Sciences.

Shikarpur has been associated with the Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar since 1991.
He was nominated as sixth district governor of Rotary District 3131 for the year 2013-2014.
