Mrs.Goetz was born in Wesley, Iowa, United States, in June, 1898.

Education

Delia Goetz graduated from Iowa State Teachers’ College (now University of Northern Iowa) in 1922.

Career

After her graduation, she left the United States to teach in Cuba, Guatemala, and Panama. Beginning in 1946, Mrs. Goetz accepted a Post with the U.S. Office of Education in Central America, a position she held until 1961. Her first book for children. The Good Neighbors: The Story of tlle Two Americas, was published in 1939. In all, Mrs. Goetz wrote thirty books, mostly for children. Her topics range from education, daily life in Central America, and geology.
