Denis Shore

Background

He was born in Johannesburg and died in Durban.

Career

In 1936 he was eliminated in the second round of the Olympic 400 metre event. Twelve years later he was eliminated in the second round of the 200 metre contest and in the semi-finals of the 400 metre event at the 1948 Olympics. In the 100 yards contest as well as in the 220 yards event he was eliminated in the semi-finals.

Achievements

• At the 1938 Empire Games he won the bronze medal in the 440 yards competition.

Membership

He was also a member of the South African relay team which was eliminated in the first round of the 4×400 metre relay competition.
