Career
Born on 8 February 1921 and educated at Addey and Stanhope School and Queens" College, Cambridge, Hawker served in the Royal Marines during the Second World War before he was ordained in 1951. His first post was as a curate at Street Mary and Street Eanswythe, Folkestone, after which he was Vicar of Street Mark, South Norwood. From 1960 he was Street Hugh’s Missioner for the Diocese of Lincoln and later became Vicar of Street Mary and Street James, Great Grimsby before elevation to the Episcopate.
He died on 31 January 2003.
