Lillie"s first season of first-class cricket in 1965-1966 was three years before Denmark Lillee made his first senior representative appearance. They did not appear together in the starting lineup of the same game, however Lillie was twelfth man in a Queensland v Western Australia Sheffield Shield game during the 1980-1981 season, and in fact caught Denmark Lillee in the first innings of that game.
