Chaudhari received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology in 1987. Three years later he earned his Master of Engineering degree in Electronics from the same institute. In 2000, Devendra was given a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology.
Chaudhari began his career as a lecturer at Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology in 1988 and held it for fourteen years. Since 2000 he has been a visiting assistant professor at Government College of Engineering. Also Devendra served as a head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the same college from 2001 to 2003. Since 2002 he is a professor at Government College of Engineering.
Chaudhari is a member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society of India and International Society for Technology in Education.
On May 5, 1992 Devendra Chaudhari married Dhanashree Devendra Savdekar. They have 2 children.
