Being a meritorious student, He had showed interests in writing from his school days. He did his engineering graduation in Alagappa College of Engineering from 2003-2007. lieutenant was during this time, he started reading Frozen Thoughts (Infinithoughts) magazine from his college library.
Inspired by the articles and columns in the magazine, he started writing short novels and stories.
His first novel was "The Awakening" which is still unpublished. "The Celestial Hunt" was his first published novel in 2010.
Devikumar has started his work for the sequel of "The Celestial Hunt.".
