Diana Lopez

Background

Diana Lopez was born on March 16, 1948 in Los Angeles, California, United States, in the family of Louis H. and Valentine (Ballesteros) Lopez.

Education

In 1967 Diana received B.A. at San Francisco State University, then in 1969 M.A. In 1979 she got Ed.D. at Nova University.

Career

Diana worked as an English instructor at Moorpark College, Moorpark, since 1970. Diana also assisted in establishing and taught in Bilingual Center and tutorial program for minority students; writer. Moreover, she is a contributor of poems and short stories to periodicals.

Achievements

• Diana Lopez, who writes under the pseudonym Isabella Rios, will be remembered in Hispanic literature as the author of the first Chicana bildungsroman, Victuum.
