Diana Saville began her career as a literary agent at A. D. Peters where she served from 1970 to 1974. She had been writing her own gardening books and editing other people’s garden books, and acting as a horticultural consultant and as a garden and plant photographer at the beginning of her professional path.
A commission to edit a volume of poetry and paintings provided her the stepping stone to writing a debut novel, ‘The Marriage Bed’, published in 1995.
Saville has also contributed as an author of gardening columns to magazines and newspapers, including Saturday Review, Country Life, and Good Housekeeping.
