Her culinary efforts seem to be exactly what the doctor ordered until her former father-in-law, gynecologist Fritz Korman, is struck down - and Goldy is accused of adding poison to the menu. Now, with the Department of Health impounding her leftovers, her ex-husband trashing her name, and her business close to being shut down, Goldy knows she can’t wait for the police to serve up answers. She soon uncovers more than one skeleton in the closet, along with a veritable slew of unpalatable secrets - the kind that could make Goldy the main course in an unsavory killer’s next murder.

Diane Mott Davidson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States to the family of a Navy officer stationed at the Pentagon. She has sisters and a brother.
Diane studied at St. Anne's School in Charlottesville. That was the place where she was encouraged to become a writer. Then, Diane attended Wellesley College and graduated from Stanford University with a double major in Art History and Political Science.
Several years later, she received her master's degree in Art History from Johns Hopkins.
It took some time for Davidson to become a writer. She spent most of her early married life teaching. The professional direction changed when the family moved to Colorado. It was only after her youngest son was in preschool that she began to focus her work on writing.
Diane Mott wrote in a cafe that also did catering, and Davidson's interest in the business gave her the idea for her successful series of culinary mystery novels starring Goldy Bear, a small-town caterer and the mother of a young son named Archie.
Davidson has volunteered for numerous organizations. She was a tutor in a correctional facility, rape-victim counselor, and served for 10 years on the Board of Examining Chaplains of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. For years she taught the adult Bible study at her parish, where she was also licensed to preach.

Quotations:
"When I make a recipe for the first time and it’s fabulous, I know I’m in trouble because I don’t know exactly what I did and I can’t replicate it. The recipes in the books have to come out the same the 10th and 20th time, I have to be able to replicate the taste and the texture."
"Working with food is healing. The ingredients, the smells, the flavors - the delight in experimenting and putting a meal together - all these bring joy, no matter what the circumstances."
Diane Mott Davidson is a vivacious, unpretentious woman. She usually gave a little talk when she made personal appearances at bookstores, and almost always had a plate of homemade cookies on the table with her books.
