Wang was an important contributor to the development of mathematical logic in China. His work on Chinese logical thought provided a comprehensive and sophisticated history of the field. Modern Logic (1937) dealt systematically with modern developments in logic, criticized classical logic and discussed the likely future pattern of logical thought. He also wrote on the history of mathematics and on the history of inductive logic and scientific method.
