He was the head coach of the men"s tennis team at the University of Virginia. for three years, from 1998-2001. Stockton"s highest world ranking was World Number. 8. He reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in 1974, the quarterfinals of the United States. Open in 1976 and "77 and the semifinals in the 1978 French Open.
