Gesios spend most of his professional career with, a club for which he is the leading goal scorer. Gesios played for until the 1979-1980 season reaching 74 league goals and becoming the club"s all-time top league goalscorer. In 1980 Gesios signed for AEK playing for the club for the 1980-1981 season appearing in 22 league games and scoring 7 goals.
He finished his career in Veria. Gesios made his debut for Greece in a friendly 0-1 home loss against Israel on 22 September 1976.
