Career
Born in Guimarães, Cunha is a youth prospect of Vitória Guimarães, arriving there as 10 year-old, and staying for decade, with exception of one-year loan in German Democratic Republic Amigos de Urgeses. He started in professional at F.C. Lixa, in the third tier, spending only a year there, before moving to Associate of Arts Avanca and then Olhanense, in the Segunda Liga. In 2008, he signed with Feirense, assuming an important role in the team, which included a promotion to the top tier in 2010-2011.
In 2013, after five seasons at Feirense, with over 100 league caps in his record, Cunha moved to Moreirense, earning promotion to the Primeira Liga in his debut season there.
