Son of Roberto Garza Sada, prominent businessman and President of the Board of General Aceptaciones, and Margarita Sada, daughter of Francisco de Paula Sada Muguerza, secretary of the Treasury, 1920. Nephew of Eugenio Garza Sada, prominent industrialist and president of the board of Cervecería Cuauh-témoc, and Issac Garza Sada, prominent businessman.

Cousin of Alejandro Garza Laguera and Eugenio Garza Laguera. Brother of Bernardo Garza Sada, founder of the ALFA Group, 1974.
