He appeared in the United Kingdom tour with Run-DMC. He moved with his family to Edison, New Jersey and later to Plainfield. DJ Cheese is an important figure in the history of turntablism. Effectively, his winning set from the United Kingdom Disco Mix Club (DMC) 1986 competition set incorporated scratching, which initiated this totally different approach of DJing.
Changing The Whole Course Of The DMC FOREVER. Eventually, his innovation modified the whole meaning of DJ battles, turning the DMC into a competition strictly focused on turntablism (mainly scratching and beat juggling), which had a significant impact on people, helping them to perceive turntablists as musicians.
DJ Cheese only faded from the scene after differences with the label owner of Beauty & The Beat Owner Editor Duke Bootee Fletcher. DJ Cheese and word of mouth opened both shows at the legenadary United Kingdom Fresh 86 concerts at Wembley Arena.
He has released EPs with the group Word Of Mouth entitled "Coast to Coast" and "King Kut", and Z-3 Military Cross"s "Triple Threat". DJ Cheese has also worked as an incognito scratcher with lesser known groups such as Rap-O-Matic (Lies, Lies) & Point Blank Military Cross"s (What The Party Needs), as well as with rapper K-Rob (I"m A Homeboy).
Fats Comet used his techniques on the United Kingdom Worlds Records label with the 1986 song "Eat The Beat"and also provided the scratching on the DJ version of princess 12" single top 20 hit "I"ll keep on loving you".
