Fought in 1905-1907 Revol. 1906 secretary, Bolshevik newspapers Volna and Ekho, 1906 Lenin lived in Levshchenko’s apartment: spring 1906 Leshchenko was elected secretary, Petrograd Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Committee. 1907 deleg, 5th Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congress.
1910-1911 worked for newspaper Zvezda and Pravda. 1917 secretary, nwespaper Izvestiya Petrogradskogo Soveta (until the Bolsheviks withdrew from the ed staff). Then in Vyborg Rayon Duma.
July 1917 travelled to village Razliv where he photographed Lenin. After 1917 October Revol secretary, People's Commissariat of Education. 1918-1921 head, All-Russian Cinema Committee.
From 1924 taught; arrested by State Security organs.
