From 1903 professor, Moscow University. 1922-1930 professor, Moscow Mathematical Social. Opposed Soviet efforts to reorganize high schools and sci institutions
1929 dismissed from his post as director, Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics 1930 expelled from Moscow Mathematical Social. Specialized in differential geometry, the theory of integral equations, variation calculus and the theory of real variable functions.
