Dmitry Fedorovich Sverchkov was a novelist, playwright, publicist, screenwriter and literary critic.

Background

Dmitry Fedorovich Sverchkov was born on February 21, 1882 in Tala, Voronezh oblast, Russian Federation. He was the son of Fedor Dmitrievich Sverchkov. He lived with his parents in Voronezh (1883-1894).

Education

Dmitry Fedorovich graduated from high school in St. Petersburg (1901), then he entered the Law Faculty of Saint Petersburg University, from which he was fired for participating in the revolutionary movement.

Career

Until 1910 was in exile. Since 1920 worked in the People's Commissariat of Railways for years; in the 1930s was a deputy Director of Science at the State Literary Museum. Unreasonably repressed (August 1937), shot. Dmitry Fedorovich was engaged in literary activities since 1903. Author of historical and political biographies.

Politics

In 1920 Dmitry Fedorovich joined the Communist party of the Soviet Union, worked pn senior positions. During the mass repression, he was arrested on August 11, 1937 and convicted by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on charges of participation in the counter-revolutionary terrorist organization of the right, shot on April 21, 1938. Rehabilitated July 7, 1956, by the definition of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR.
