Career
Having served as curé of Ste. Trinité church in Paris, he was appointed in May 2000 and consecrated bishop in September 2000. Dominique Rey was appointed to the synod on evangelisation in 2012.
He has stressed an incompatibility between being a Catholic and a Free Mason (the connotations of which in France differ significantly from those mainly operating in the English-speaking world).
