He also syndicated The Lawrence Welk Show following American Broadcasting Company"s cancellation of the series in 1971. Fedderson"s biggest success on television, however, began in 1960 with My Three Sons, starring Fred MacMurray, which Fedderson executive produced. The show aired for five years on American Broadcasting Company and another seven on Columbia Broadcasting System, producing a total of 380 episodes, making it the second longest live-action sitcom in history.
Fedderson was married to Helen Fedderson and then actress Tido Minor.
He fathered seven children, two of whom became actors: Gregg Fedderson (deceased) and Mike Minor (deceased). Fedderson died on December 18, 1994, at the age of 81, from heart problems while being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
He was buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
