He was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Wheldon was killed in a rather bizarre way on June 1, 1985 when he was sleeping. A bolt of lightning hit a tree outside the home and broke a window above the head of his bed and it"s metal frame struck him on the head which killed him.
